Street Kids – Part 2

In my previous post, I talked about working kids on the streets selling newspapers along the road together with their family. Not long after that, on the day same, I discovered this 2 boys along the road as well, but they don’t actually have a physical merchandise to sell.

They were musicians. Of sorts. Buskers, to be precise.

They essentially employed the same tactics – standing by a traffic junction waiting for vehicles to slow down, then approaching each motorists playing their instruments. They get ignored most of the time, but sometimes they do get a donation.

I tried to converse with them as well, but all they could do was to bring out a phrase book of English phrases, and he randomly pointed to one and look at me if that was what I meant.

This guy busks by stopping traffic, hoping to get a donation for his efforts.

I’m glad to have met them, and more importantly, talked to and photographed them. This experience makes me think most kids in Singapore are very fortunate!
